    THF has officially established in Lausanne, Switzerland

    March

    IPC and APC (Americas Paralympic Committee) informed the 17 sports programs, including taekwondo, for the 2019 Parapan American Games to be held in Lima, Peru. April, 2016: THF has officially established in Lausanne, Switzerland

    IPC General Assembly in Mexico City, Mexico granted a full membership to the WTF (Nov. 15: ratification of new members)

    January

    IPC final decision on the sports programs of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, including taekwondo, was made at the 69th IPC Governing Board meeting held in Abu Dhabi, UAE

  • 2013

    First World Taekwondo Grand Prix of the WTF took place in Manchester, UK with invitation of athletes ranked within 32nd places in the WTF Olympic ranking International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Governing Board granted 'IPC-recognized IF' status to the WTF At the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, taekwondo was confirmed as one of the 25 core sports for 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games

    At the 121st IOC Session in Copenhagen, taekwondo was selected among 26 core sports for 2016 Rio Olympic Games

  • 2006

    IOC Executive Board decided at its meeting in Turin, Italy to expand the number of taekwondo entry in Beijing 2008 Olympic Games from 124 to 128 (two males and two females were added in consideration of the new establishment of Oceania Taekwondo Union)

  • 2005

    At the 117th IOC Session in Singapore, Taekwondo was voted to retain in the Olympic Program of the London 2012 Olympic Games

  • 2004

    Confirmation of Taekwondo as an Official Sport for Athens 2004 Olympic Games

  • 2002

    At the 114th IOC Session held in Mexico City, Mexico, it was confirmed that Taekwondo will be included in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games

  • 2001

    Expansion of Taekwondo quota at Athens 2004 Olympic Games to 124 in eight weight categories, respective four weight classes for men and women.

  • 2000

    Taekwondo became official Olympic Sport at the Sydney Olympic Games
